It almost wouldn’t be Christmas time without a reading of this classic story.  Each year I almost feel I relate to the pre-ghost experience Scrooge more and more.  S  To write a character who encapsulates a thought so well that they are turned into a noun is really great writing.

Ebeneezer Scrooge is a miser of a man.  He is worried more about what people own him then about the people themselves.  He doesn’t want to allow anyone to get anything over on him.  So he even watches his worker like a hawk and will not even allow him to have a fire large enough to keep warm while at work. Why waste money on warmth.  Scrooge’s old business partner Jacob Marley who has been dead 7 years come to visit him one night.  He warns him that if he continues on his current path he will suffer eternally.  Jacob is the first of four ghosts to visit.  Past, Present and Future all visit showing Ebenezer the true meaning of Christmas.  Love other, love yourself, and most of all Don’t be a Scrooge!
